FxFactory 1.0.7
The total number of
FxFactory Pro plug-ins has now reached 150, thanks to
the following new filters: Clone, Chromatic
Aberration, Channel Geometry, Free Distort, Mask With
Geometry, Color Crush, Zoom Blur Chroma, Zoom Blur
Luminance, Add Noise, Sharpen Chroma, Sharpen
Luminance, Sharpen RGB, and transitions: Paint Wipe,
Twirl Wipe and Waves Wipe.
Some of the new plug-ins are brand new designs, while
others are improved versions of plug-ins previously
available as a separate download. Here's a small
preview of the new plug-ins:
Clone
Select a portion of the source image using one of the predefined mask shapes (you can supply your own via an image well) and quickly clone it over an arbitrary location in the frame. Options let you control softness and scaling for both the source pixels and the cloned ones.
Chromatic Aberration
Simulate various effects of lens distortion, from the realistic to the improbable-but-cool-looking.
Free Distort
Distort the image using
four control points to define a new perspective
projection.
Mask With Geometry
Mask With Geometry lets you supply your own matte via
an image well and gives you geometry controls that
only affect the mask image. Unlike the existing
geometry controls in the host, Mask With Geometry
lets you animate the mask instead of the source.
Color Crush
Crush existing color values to a new range, to
simulate film looks.
Transitions: Paint Wipe, Twirl Wipe and Waves
Wipe
Based on the plug-ins
previously available in the "Fun Wipes" package,
these great-looking transitions have been enhanced
with new parameters, presets and documentation.
Other Changes
The Perspective Reflection and Videoconference
plug-ins (in FxFactory Pro) have been improved, with
more options related to the background gradient and
the ability to render at high precision bit depths in
both Motion and Final Cut Pro. The default values of
both plug-ins have also been revised in order to
start both effects with a visually correct reflection
already in place.
The LED Lights, Dots and Dots Generator plug-ins have
been enhanced to support high-precision rendering.
The LED Lights plug-in now contains a new preset:
"Stadium Panel".
The 3D Shatter plug-in from the FxFactory Motion Pack
has received substantial improvements. The
new version of the plug-in is incompatible with the
old one (see the documentation on the
installation disc for instructions on upgrading).
Bugs Fixed in This Version
Fixed preview and render problems on machines with
multiple graphics cards installed and connected to
multiple displays.
Fixed a preset-related problem affecting angle
parameters in FCP 6.0.1.
Fixed a rarely occurring memory-related problem that
was causing kernel panics on certain system
configurations.
