How to install Factory Tools?
FactoryTools.dmg
If you are using the Safari web browser, the disk
image will be handled for you automatically,
mounting the "Factory Tools 2.0" installation disk
on your desktop.
If you are using other web browsers (e.g. Firefox)
please double-click the "FactoryTools.dmg" file in
order to mount the installation disk on your
desktop.
To install Factory Tools, locate and double-click
the following program on the installation disk:
Install Factory Tools

How do I upgrade to Factory Tools 2.0?
Current Factory Tools Basic 1.0 users, including those who obtained a copy of Factory Tools Basic 1.0 as part of an Avid system purchase, may upgrade to Factory Tools Basic 2.0 for only $129.
To upgrade your existing installation of Factory Tools to 2.0, simply follow the directions below.
What hardware/software do I need to run Factory Tools 2.0?
• Mac OS X 10.4.7 (or later)
• 1GB RAM
• A video card compatible with Quartz Extreme
• Avid Xpress Pro 5.5 (or later)
• Avid Media Composer 2.5 (or later)
Please note that Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 and Avid Media Composer 2.7 are required to run Factory Tools 2.0 on Intel Macs.
What hardware/software do I need to run Factory Tools 1.0.4?
• Mac OS X 10.4.6 (or later)
• 1GB RAM
• A video card compatible with Quartz Extreme
• Avid Xpress Pro 5.5 (or later)
• Avid Media Composer 2.5 (or later)
Please note that Factory Tools 1.0.4 will not run on Intel Macs.
What hardware/software do I need to run Factory Tools 1.0 to 1.0.3?
• Mac OS X 10.4.2 (or later)
• 1GB RAM
• A video card compatible with Quartz Extreme
• Avid Xpress DV 4.8.1 (or later)
• Avid Xpress Pro 4.8.1 (or later)
• Avid Media Composer 1.8.1 (or later)
Please note that Factory Tools 1.0.0 -> 1.0.3 will not run on Intel Macs.
Where is the Factory Tools user manual?
Help on individual plug-ins can also be accessed from Avid Xpress Pro and Avid Media Composer, by clicking the options button in the parameter inspector while in Effect Mode.
